The Mad Moon
The Mad Moon is a frequent sight in the night sky, but its exact location can never be predicted. The Mad Moon typically glows with a faintly purple light, but other colors have been seen as well.
Meledus, the side visible to Aeon, is a slowly swirling landscape of elements. It is difficult for non-elemental beings to survive. It is here that the light of the Mad Moon's insane core leaks out to shine on the world below.
Inasdus, the side never seen from Aeon, is stable. It is a landscape of grasslands and sparse forests, with the occasional strange landmark. Famous sites include Ol' Wrinkly, a giant mushroom withered with age; and Face Rock, a mysterious totem carved to look like a generic human face. Tome-La's palace in the center, and can be seen from any location from Inasdus. Day and night are erratic, as the orbit of the Mad Moon shifts wildly.
The Mad Moon is said to have a strong influence on the mind. The Mad Moon is most commonly blamed as the cause of mental illnesses/disorders and lycanthropy, but many artists, musicians, and creative thinkers secretly give thanks for the Mad Moon's blessing.
Insane souls/spirits make their way to Inasdus, regardless of any pact or contract. Some souls may wander the planes for years, others will instantly appear, but all make the pilgrimage eventually. Once settled, they are free to act out their fantasies. Unfortunately this does not prevent other souls, or Tome-La, from conflicting with another soul's fancies.
Sometimes, a truly gifted mortal can find their way onto the Mad Moon, without having to perish first.
