Description:
Sulmur is the god of Death. Physically, he resembles the real-world Grim Reaper. He is a skeleton who wears a long black cloak with a hood. He carries a scythe. Psychologically, Sulmur embodies the shifting depictions of Death in the turn of each. His most common incarnations are cruelty, ridiculousness, mourning, and truth. But while he embodies these emotional elements, and therefore acts in often heavily emotional ways, these are misrepresentative of his true character. Sulmur is an emotionless, calculating god who bows to no moral code besides the code of Death.
The code of Death is by far what defines Sulmur above all other things.
Relation:
Sulmur is one of the many sons of Pohloh, specifically created to shepherd the souls of the munok dead to the afterlife on the Moon. He is brother to Jin. He is on neutral terms with most other gods, with a few exceptions. Zanathul and Sulmur share an undying animosity between them, and Zanathul would like nothing more than to see Sulmur torn into a thousand pieces and scattered across the wind by dragon fire. Mokaan claims to be furious about Sulmur's murder of his firstborn, but hasn't acted directly against him. And Aarshiya thinks of Sulmur as a troublemaker who is not even worthy of speaking to.
The rules of Death:
- Immortality, resurrection, or any other means of unnatural extension of life by mortals is an unhealthy attempt to avert the inevitable, and is a sin against nature.
- The Mortal Plane is the exclusive realm of the gods and living mortals, and no others.
- Outsider creatures who try to exercise too much influence on the plane without direct accountability cannot be allowed to remain in the Mortal Plane.
